III. Topic development / Contemporary Concerns: This portion is a qualitative narrative. This extensive section is for the scientific explanation. It needs to be more in-depth than the textbook or classroom activities. Incorporate the “hard sciences” – biology, chemistry, physics – that apply to the topic.
IV. Data presentation / Thematic Map: This portion is more quantitative in nature. Provide specific data, formulas or equations found in the research. This section should contain any maps, charts, tables or graphs that are produced as part of the project, or any additional tables or charts that help to explain the results or output. Map requires a title, north arrow, scale, legend, author, date, and data source.
V. Conclusion: Describe the results of the research. Summarize the research, and describe where the topic may be headed in the future. If there are any results from original analysis conducted by the student, the results should be provided here.
