Mary Cassatt

Mary Cassatt (1844-1926) was an influential American painter who left a vivid legacy with her painting which was rich in culture and exceptional style. Although most of her work is linked with the impressionist movement from 1879-1886, her work is not defined by one style. In some instances, Cassatt was an impressionist in her technique and elusive symbolist in the depictions of her themes or else subjects.
