I I’m writing my dissertation for my final I will be looking, exploring and researching the Indian textile industry and how it evolved since the 18th and 19th century to present day. I will examine key effects on the industry in reviewing history of the British Empire rule in India and the growing process of globalization since then.
The research aims to uncover the history of Indian textiles, how this industry in India transformed and developed since the 18th century. I will examine how the different regions of India with their different outlooks and beliefs influenced this industry. I will then explore how Indian textiles influenced the world through their increased popularity in imperial times.
I will conclude with exploring how the patterns, colours, materials and methods have further changed due to globalization. The research will also explore how globalization is effecting the Indian textile industry today.
In Chapter one I will discuss the topic on the British Empire and how it affected the Indian textile industry, and how the different regions in India have different cultures and beliefs. History of british raj This is chapter 1 + history of Raj and british rule.
